Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs faces expanded indictment in sex trafficking case

Music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been hit with an expanded indictment, now accused of coercing three women into commercial sex acts over a 20-year period. The updated charges extend the timeline of alleged offenses and add two new victims to the case.

Originally indicted in September 2024, Combs faced charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution, with one victim identified. The new indictment, filed on January 30, 2025, introduces allegations involving two additional women, bringing the total number of alleged victims to three. Prosecutors claim that from 2004 to 2024, Combs used his influence and resources to intimidate and coerce these women into participating in recorded sexual performances, often referred to as “Freak Offs.” These events allegedly involved both female victims and male sex workers, with some encounters being recorded.

The indictment also includes disturbing allegations of violence, such as an incident where Combs purportedly dangled a woman over an apartment balcony. This claim mirrors previous accusations made by designer Bryana Balgona in a past lawsuit. Additionally, Combs is accused of assaulting employees and witnesses, further highlighting the severity of the charges.

Combs’ legal team has responded to the updated indictment by asserting that no new offenses have been added and criticizing the prosecution’s approach. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, described the indictment as “sexist and puritanical,” arguing that the sexual activities in question were consensual. Despite these defenses, Combs remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, awaiting his trial scheduled for May 5, 2025.

The case has garnered significant attention, especially following a lawsuit filed by Combs’ former girlfriend, Casandra Ventura, in November 2023, accusing him of physical and sexual abuse. That lawsuit was settled swiftly, but it has led to increased scrutiny of Combs’ actions and additional allegations from other individuals. Currently, Combs is also facing over 30 civil lawsuits accusing him of various sex crimes.

As the legal proceedings continue, the entertainment industry and the public are closely monitoring the developments in this high-profile case. If convicted on all charges, Combs could face a substantial prison sentence, underscoring the gravity of the allegations against him.
