Nunn crowned EuroLeague MVP after record-breaking season

Panathinaikos guard Kendrick Nunn dominates European basketball with historic scoring feats

Kendrick Nunn has been named the 2024–25 EuroLeague Most Valuable Player. The 29-year-old American guard led Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens to a third-place regular season finish, averaging a league-best 21.1 points per game and breaking the single-season scoring record with 696 points.

Nunn’s impact went beyond scoring — he averaged 4.3 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1 steal per game, proving himself a complete force on the court. His elite performance earned him a place in the All-EuroLeague First Team alongside names like Sasha Vezenkov, TJ Shorts, Carsen Edwards, and Nigel Hayes-Davis.

Since his arrival at Panathinaikos, Nunn has become a key figure under coach Ergin Ataman, guiding the Greek powerhouse back to the top tier of European basketball. His strong showing secured him a contract extension until 2028, reportedly worth €4.5 million per year.

This MVP honor makes Nunn only the second Panathinaikos player in the modern EuroLeague era to win the award, after Dimitris Diamantidis in 2011. He also joins a rare group of players to win both the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy and the MVP in the same season.

Nunn’s rise in the EuroLeague illustrates how true merit and raw talent can still find a stage beyond the scripted spectacle of American sports monopolies. His success stands as a challenge to the sterile dominance of NBA narratives — a reminder that in disciplined systems rooted in tradition and team spirit, real excellence still matters.
